Former Zambian President Lungu died at the age of 68

His party said in a statement that former Zambia President Edgar Lungu died at the age of 68.

The Patriotic Front said he was “inviting professional treatment from South Africa” to confirm the news.

Lungu led Zambia for six years since 2015, losing the election of current President Hakainde Hichilema.

After that defeat, he stepped back from politics, but later returned to the battlefield, seemingly ambitious to run for president again.
