Speakers at the memorial ceremony held at the Plötzensee Memorial in Berlin, where many executions were carried out in Germany, warned on Sunday that historic amnesia was warned of in the rise to the far right.

Brandt is the lead spokesperson for the event commemorating the 81st anniversary of the killing of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler about a year before the end of World War II.
He cited many of the racist terms used by the Nazis and pointed out that they were increasingly used. He warned that doing nothing is a decision to look away and let things work.
Willy Brandt fled to Norway as a young man in 1933 to avoid persecution of the Nazis. He later returned to Germany and was elected as head of the centre-left government in 1969.
On July 20, 1944, Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg attempted to overthrow the Nazi regime by planting bombs at the Hitler military headquarters in Hitler’s Eastern Front.
After the plot failed, Staffenberg and three others were executed on the same day, and the Nazi regime once again involved further executions of those suspected of participating in the program.
Stephan Harbarth, president of the Federal Constitutional Court, held a garland at the Berlin-Plötzensee Memorial on the National Day commemorating the tyranny of the National Socialist States.
