Joint venture led by ONGC resumes production from offshore PY-3 fields in Cauvery Basin

Ongc said in a statement on Sunday that an oil and gas company limited company (ONGC), Hardy Exploration and Production Inc. A joint venture with Invenire Petrodyne has successfully started production from PY-3 Field offshore Cauvery Basin on the east coast of India.

Since July 2011, the PY-3 field was initially launched in 1997.

Since then, a multi-phase revised on-site development program (FDP) has been implemented to resume production.

The first phase of the revised FDP has been completed.

This includes the integrity assessment, conditioning and activation of the pd3sa subwell; the installation of the subsea infrastructure; and the connection to the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel Svetah Venetia.

FPSO is used to process and separate oil, gas and water. The ONGC statement added that the oil produced is stored on the FPSO and offloaded to the shuttle tanker for transport to the refinery.

It added: “The second phase of FDP will involve drilling other wells and applying enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technology to enhance the yield of this production site, resulting in lightweight sweet crude oil.”

Invenire Energy Group’s company, Hardy Exploration and Production (India) Inc., is the operator of the neighborhood, with an effective 22.79% participation interest. ONGC owns a 50.63% active participation interest, and Invenire Petrodyne Ltd. holds the remaining 26.58%.

Maheshwari added that this marked an important step in Invenire’s operational journey and reaffirmed the joint venture’s commitment to contribute to India’s energy security.
