Start from scratch: Joel Carmona serves as general manager of truck financing at Global Dominion

In the ever-evolving world of financing, leadership is rarely associated with titles, and it’s about transformation. For Joel Carmona, general manager of Global Dominion Truck Financing, the leadership path is based on consistency, credibility and caring for people.
What makes Mr. Carmona’s story strong is not only his professional climb, but how he grew from the grassroots to the helmsman – with purpose, resilience and clear vision to enhance the lives of Filipino entrepreneurs.
Mr. Carmona's career began in 2008 as a client officer under Forbes AO and was later sent to the headquarters of Tanai Rural Bank. By 2009, he was in Pangasinan, serving clients directly, which was his early contact, which stemmed from the reality of community loans and the importance of obtaining financing in faraway areas.
In 2010, he officially joined the Global Dominion of the Dagupan branch. His work quickly stood out – not only digitally, but in building relationships, winning customers’ trust and improving service standards. In 2013, he was recognized as the Client Officer of the Year, a recognition confirming the core of his hard work and service.
From there, his journey was one of the stable and meaningful advancements:
- 2014 – Director of AO in Northern Luzon
- 2015 – Global Dominion Dagupan Branch Manager
- 2021 – Team Leader of Northern Luzon Island
- 2022 – Regional Manager of Northern Luzon Regional Financing
Through each promotion, Mr. Kamona remains rooted. He leads with humility, builds high-performance teams and embodies the service and leadership value that global domination cherishes.
In June 2023, Mr. Carmona worked with then-General Manager Arvin Antonio, to become Deputy General Manager of Truck Financing. Together, they led a period of transformation – slide operations, expanding coverage and driving growth.
Their leadership has improved the sector’s performance and set a new benchmark in global domination. In 2025, Mr. Antonio was appointed President and CEO of Wisefund Finance Corp., while Mr. Carmona continued to have momentum.
Under their leadership, with the support of dedicated officials and staff, the department has achieved several transformative milestones:
- Four centralized processing offices (CPOs) and five satellite offices have been established to establish a stronger national team to provide more sensitive and efficient services to customers across the country.
- Reducing loan processing time by nearly 50%, making loan approval faster and greatly improving the customer experience.
- Expanding the size of the partner dealer program by more than 40%, making truck ownership and commercial mobility easier to access by thousands of Filipinos.
- Loan spending rose 35% year-on-year as of Q1 2025, marking the strongest performance of Truck Financing to date.
By February last year, Mr. Kamona was officially appointed General Manager, a highly rewarding title based on results, trust and over 15 years of hard work.
Now leading the Truck Financing Division, Mr. Carmona has brought a clear task: to make truck ownership easier to support small businesses and logistics operators, and to lead with integrity in every transaction.
“This role is not only promotion, but responsibility,” he said. “I know where I started, and I know how important it is to give people a chance – like the company once gave me.”
